Just a few miles from San Francisco nestles the ultra laid back city of Berkeley, California. Renowned for its world class University and once home to the scintillating sounds of such rock bands as the Grateful Dead, Berkeley long ago turned the corner on its infamous but noteworthy past. Always a hot spot for billion dollar businesses, Berkeley is reinventing itself by welcoming new and innovative companies questing for green solutions.
Fast gaining a reputation for its imaginatively green ideas is Red Dog Sportswear, an organic clothing line with 'skin in the game'. They make underwear and basically underwear only. It's a sexy job and Red Dog does it very well with their new eco-sport line. Producing a selection of men's under garments using only certified organic cotton, grown by Turkish farmers who pick every ounce of cotton by hand and use no chemicals in processing the fabric.
At the helm of Red Dog Sportswear is 44-year old Brian Almashie, an animal loving, business man with a green vision for this relatively new company. Brian got his start in a varied background that included hotel management and web design. Through his travels he met a woman named Priscilla that introduced him to the "green" world. The whole green movement intrigued him and motivated him to create something that would "create a green footprint on this planet" as he likes to mention. Brian's main goal was to "encourage awareness to mainstream America and to get them thinking green can also mean quality." He wants people to know that "for a few extra dollars people can have a product that is helping the planet; that is green and without toxins; and is helping farmers that refuse to use chemicals in the processing."
Red Dog Sportswear's demographics are geared towards athletic men but they are about to expand their horizons. Red Dog Sportswear also plans on entering the women's marketplace by providing an eco-friendly line of women's sexy under garments. In 2010 the company will introduce G-strings and thongs to accompany their men's boxers, sport briefs and trunks. The company plans to focus strictly on underwear and provide eco-conscience consumers with the quality and comfort they deserve.
Brian's vision for the next five years is to sell his organic underwear in both mass and specialty stores, bringing the green world to big chain stores. Beat the masses! Purchase them here, at envi-image.com.
