MENTAL HEALTH... THE ENVIRONMENTAL ALTERNATIVE
I seem to have developed a problem with swearing. Just the four letter word variety. Well, to be honest, there are sometimes entire phrases of profanity spewing from my mouth at any given time. Because almost all of my friends have small children, I must learn to control my expletives! However, there is one four-letter word that seems to be whispered by so many, yet spoken by so few. That word is rape.

I speak about this because somebody absolutely must. The statistics are staggering. I am a survivor of violent rapes in the last few years, but I am also someone who has lived to tell. Because of that, I have become a certified Rape Crisis Counselor. Also because of my own personal experiences, I have discovered what heals and what harms the process of healing from trauma. My chosen treatment for my own patients, in addition to verbal counseling, is Nature. (more)

ECO-TATS
What rivals the world's oldest profession? The world's oldest art form, of course. Tattoos, or 'tats' as they are commonly called today, were an ancient art form long before the time of Cleopatra. Envi-Image.com decided to feature an article on tattoos gracing beautiful women because it is such a natural fit for both the website and Tattoo International.

Over the centuries, tattoos have gone in and out of popularity but among their most ardent fans they never completely lost favor. Rebels, royals, rock stars and movie stars; anyone with a statement to make could sport an inky slogan or slang expression, tucking it shyly beneath a discreet bikini line or placing it out there in full view, for all to see.(more)

CLARITY
Clarity. We all want it. We all lose it. Doctors say it's a sign of health. Buddhists say it's a sign of maturity.

In the beginning of our lives we don't even know we need it. Along the way, we realize we can't do without it.

Mental Clarity empowers us to make sound decisions. Soulful Clarity awakens our most divine decision maker - our Intuition. If we truly care for our Selves, we harmonize with Nature. We naturally choose what's good for us, and we realize that "me" is we. And we in deed, are One.

A simple example: Drinking water as your lifestyle hydrates your metabolism & plumps your cells the way a plant gorges with vitality when it rains. (more)

GORGEOUS IN THE GARDEN
I live in Florida, so we deal with pests all year round. It still beats the long, cold winters of my hometown, Buffalo, New York. Fortunately, I have never had any fear of insects, spiders, worms, and snakes. At an early age, I recognized that they were here for a reason, not just to annoy us. Many of those creatures have more beneficial proprieties than we ever imagined.

"There is always a balance, and Mother Nature knows what she is doing. It is mankind who has messed up the ecology, and now we have to take responsibility. Remember: If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem."(more)

LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Some might say I am the most unexpected environmentalist. I can't blame them. After all, last time Hot Moms Club Magazine asked me to write an article for their "green" issue back in 2006, the only thing I could come up with was "Men Who Recycle Gifts."

Sure, the piece is a hilarious read (if I do say so myself). But my level of awareness has gone light-years beyond such gossip like the story of the man who stole his wife's sweater to give to his mistress.

"Today, I am now more concerned with what materials that the sweater was made from, and more specifically whether it's good for the woman who wears it as well as good for the planet she wears it on!"(more)
